Vending machines are standard everywhere, from commercial places to recreation areas. It is very commonly used to sell packaged drinks and eatables. However, the trend is changing, and sanitary napkins are finding their way into these vending machines.

Sanitary napkin vending machines are now being installed in schools, offices, and remote areas to make sanitary napkins easily accessible to the common public.

How Does a Sanitary Vending Machine Work?

A vending machine can have one or many items inside it. There is a keypad at the front with different numbers on it. It is the main program through which the customer accesses the things inside the vending machine. Each number corresponds to another product. The user presses the number for the desired product.

Then the person inserts the money in the dedicated slot given for it. There is a conveyer belt that takes the money inside the vending machine. The main program takes a snapshot of the funds and evaluates their authenticity. If the money is authentic, the respective product is released from its spot and comes out from the opening mentioned as ‘collect it.’

The movement of the currency and development is mapped by a laser light that ensures that every request cycle is appropriately completed. In the case of a sanitary vending machine, there may not be a need for a keypad. A button can replace it. On inserting the coin/money, the sanitary pad will come out from the ‘collect here’ slot.

Who Will Manage My Vending Machine?

Management is an essential consideration in vending machines as they need to work 24X7. Therefore, you need to think about managing it before installing the machine. There are two primary ways of managing a vending machine.

Purchase: You can purchase a sanitary vending machine from the manufacturer and install it at your place. Its management and use are entirely in your hand. In addition, you can own 100% revenue from it.

Lease: You can lease it. In case of a lease or rent, you can connect with the vendor and get the vending machine installed. You will have to pay rent. You can ask the vendor to manage the vending machine in return for some percentage of the revenue. Everything is recorded in the form of a contract.

How Does a Vending Machine Detect Money?

Payment can be done using coins, notes, or cards at any vending machine. Different mechanisms are installed inside the vending machine for other modes of payment. The vending machines have a copper wire arrangement to accept only the coins with the correct chemical composition for cash. In addition, diodes and sensors are used to accept authentic coins.

For notes, a digital camera and ultraviolet scanner are installed to scan the messages and check the authenticity of the fluorescent ink. Credit and debit cards require a different mechanism installed on a vending machine using a magnetic swipe. However, only coins are allowed to keep it simple in many vending machines.

How Often Should You Restock Your Vending Machine?

There are no limits on restocking a vending machine. Restocking depends on the frequency of usage. For example, a sanitary napkin vending machine in a commonplace such as society might need a refill 3-4 times a day. On the other hand, the same vending machine may need to be refilled in a school or office premises once a day.

The refill also depends on the size of the vending machine. If the machine stores many sanitary napkins, it will need lesser refills. To understand the frequency of refills, you can monitor the vending machine throughout the day and check the availability of the sanitary napkins after every few hours for a couple of days. This will give a fair idea about the refill frequency that needs to be followed in the coming days.
