  • Govt. of India has declared Bharat Janaushadhi Pariyojna (PMBJP) a flagship program of PMKVY. The aim of this program is to encourage higher awareness about the necessity for personal healthcare and step further in ensuring access to sanitary napkins and good quality medicines at affordable prices.
  • The National Menstrual Hygiene Scheme (NMHS) aims to promote the health and welfare of adolescent girls by providing free sanitary napkins to them. Under the NMHS umbrella, self-help groups are formed in rural areas. These groups help females in the community to make their own sanitary napkins by using locally available materials like cloth, wood pulp, and coconut husk.
